Introducing CCX

Concrete Canvas Ltd, the inventors of GCCM technology, are proud to announce the launch of this latest innovation – CCX®

What is CCX®

CCX® is the latest addition to the CC family and has been designed specifically for lining large profile infrastructure such as canals to prevent erosion and reduce seepage losses.

CCX® consists of two interconnected layers of geotextile that encapsulate a specially formulated dry concrete mix. An LLDPE geomembrane backing ensures the material has very high impermeability. The composite concrete top cover provides a high degree of long-term durability.

We look forward to the roll out of this latest innovation which, enhances the operational life and functionality of existing bulk water infrastructure, as CC products continue to combine high performance, durability and value to our users around the world.

Benefits of CCX

Rapid Installation

CCX® is quick to install and can be put into service 24 hours from hydration, maximising installation volumes during valuable shutdown periods.

Reduced Seepage

CCX-M® has an integrated LLDPE backing reducing water seepage losses whilst accommodating differential ground movement.

Composite Solution

CCX® combines the low permeability of a geomembrane with the protection and durability of concrete.

Logistical Footprint

At 14.5–15.5 kg/m², CCX® is over 10x lighter per unit area than conventional concrete, cutting transport, cost and carbon.

Aligned to ASTM D8364

CC products are the first GCCMs to meet the International Specification Standard for GCCMs, ASTM D8364. The new CCX® product range has been developed to align with the ASTM classification level Type II, to make specifying the right product even easier.

Composite Solution

CCX® combines the impermeability of a geomembrane with the durability of concrete. CCX® can be installed as rapidly as conventional geosynthetics and 24 hours from hydration will cure to create a hard-wearing concrete liner which is ready to use.

Reduced Down-time

The speed of installation and high early strength gain means that infrastructure down-time is minimised. In critical infrastructure, where maintenance shut-down periods are fixed, this allows for much greater areas to be lined.
